The state of Indiana has two agencies:

Indiana Department of Financial Institutions (DFI)
Indiana DFI will use the NMLS to assist with the supervision of Lenders which includes the new First Lien Mortgage Lending License and the Subordinate Lien Mortgage Lending Licenses.

Indiana Secretary of State (SOS)
Indiana SOS will use the NMLS to assist with the supervision of Loan Brokers which includes all Loan Broker, Principal Manager and Loan Originator License/Registrations.
